KAZAK Kazak
carpets are woven by nomadic shepherds in the mountainous region of the Caucasus. They are woven from wool and have
a fairly thick pile. The design is mostly geometric consisting of central medallions with different shapes such as cross,
squares, diamonds and hexagons. The border of most Caucasian carpets consist of a large band with two smaller bands
around it. The most common colors are shades or red, blue, white, yellow, green and light blue.

USHAK TABRIZ SIVA SHIRAZ OBRUK MALAYER KOZAK KURDISH TASHPINAR USHAK Originating from the 15th century Turkish Oushaks are still being made in Oushak Turkey today. Oushaks
were originally used to decorate the Ottoman palaces. They are made from the finest quality of wool and colored by natural
dyes. We have several antique carpets ranging from 60 to 80 years old as well as our own custom pieces that are made
in Oushak. If you do not find what you are looking for in our warehouse we can have a carpet specially designed for
you in any size and pattern.
TABRIZ Tabriz carpets are made in the northwestern part of Iran. Since the 17th century, Tabriz has been one
of the most important production centers of the country. Today, Tabriz is home to some of the most skilled weavers.
The design is most often floral with a center medallion and the weave is tighter than that of the Heriz. The traditional
colors used are shades or red, blue, and green.

famous for their silk carpets. Kayseri carpets are often woven from wool with a cotton foundation or entirely from silk

HERIZ The
traditional Heriz carpet comes from the village of Heris in northwest Iran. Originally, the people of Heris made these
rugs in larger sizes for their living rooms. The carpets consist of a cotton foundation with wool pile and are most
often square in shape. The northern section of Iran is suited perfectly for breeding sheep and this region is known
for its excellent quality of wool. The most common design is a center medallion with pendants on a sparsely decorated
field with a very prominent geometric border. The most common colors are shades of red, blue, pink, camel or ivory.
